Friday's Free Key Points
Key Point's are important bullet points that relate to Texas state exam topic areas.

Commission Duties And Powers

The TREC has the power to grant, renew, suspend, or revoke licenses for real estate brokers, salespersons, inspectors, and other real estate professionals.

Licensing

If the broker wishes to use a fictitious business name, they must register the name with the TREC by filing an assumed name certificate with the county clerk's office in the county where the broker's principal place of business is located.

Standards Of Conduct

The trust account must be established in the name of the broker as the designated trustee. The account title should clearly indicate that it is a trust or escrow account and should include the broker's name or business name.

Agency / Brokerage

Unlicensed assistants may assist with administrative tasks related to advertising and marketing but should not be involved in the creation of advertising content or any activities that would require knowledge of TREC's advertising rules and regulations.

Contracts

The seller of residential real estate must provide the buyer with a disclosure notice if the property is located within a floodplain or a flood pool.

Special Topics

The VLB operates a network of state veterans homes offering skilled nursing care, rehabilitation services, and specialized care for conditions such as Alzheimer's disease.
